Purple Day receives Royal Assent!

July 5, 2012 · No Comments

Great news everyone! Bill C-278, the Purple Day Act, received Royal Assent on June 28, 2012! This means that March 26th of every year is now legally recognized by the Canadian government as Purple Day, a day of epilepsy awareness, a day where Canadians should wear purple to promote a greater awareness of epilepsy and to support the 300,000 Canadians living with epilepsy!

The following is an official news story from Canadian Newswire about the passing of Purple Day into law: Purple Day now legally recognized in Canada

Congratulations to Cassidy Megan and everyone else behind the Purple Day campaign! Cassidy, your dream is one step closer to reality! We at SECA fully support you and will continue to celebrate Purple Day every March 26th on the University of Toronto St. George Campus!

To everyone else in the world who celebrates Purple Day, keep up the great work! Together, we can make sure the world celebrates Purple Day and everyone is made aware of the impact of epilepsy!
